Authorize TripChill to use your Twitter Account
In order for TripChill to automatically update your status or send notifications
to your friends via Twitter, you must authorize TripChill access to your Twitter
account.
From TripChill website
On the My Account tab, select Account Sharing and under Other Account
Sharing, click the Authorize Now button next to Share Twitter Account.
You will be redirected to a Twitter page where you must enter your Twitter account
credentials and then click Allow.
Once completed, you will be redirected back to TripChill showing that you successfully
authorized TripChill access to your Twitter account.
From iPhone and Android
From your device browser, navigate to
m.tripchill.com
and login if necessary. If you are viewing your current trip, click on the
Main Menu
button. From the
Main Menu, select
Notify a Friend, click the
Add More
Friends button, and then select
Add From Twitter Contacts.
In order to authorize TripChill to access your Twitter account, click the Authorize
Now button. You will then navigate over to Twitter (see picture above) where
you must enter your Twitter credentials and then click Allow.
Once completed, you will be redirected back to Notify a Friend. This time when you
click on Add From Twitter Contacts, you will be able to select friends you
are following for notification.
Update My Status on Twitter
When authorizing access to your Twitter account, TripChill automatically adds a
new friend called My Status on Twitter to your list of friends. TripChill
will automatically update your travel status on Twitter when changes occur. You
are done!
Send Direct Message to a Friend
Twitter allows you to send private messages between you and your friends. In order
to Direct Message someone via Twitter, Twitter requires you to be following each
other.
From TripChill website
When viewing an itinerary, click the Notify Friends bar underneath a flight to show the Notify a Friend
popup (see picture above). Click Add More Friends… You will see a tabbed page displaying
your friends which can be selected for notification. Notice the Twitter Friends
tab at the top.
Click on it and all of your friends you are following on Twitter are displayed.
To add friends from Twitter, click the checkboxes next to their names and then click
the Add button. Twitter provides a list of the latest 100 friends you connected
with. If you have more than 100 friends, you can click on the More... button
following the current list to load the next 100 friends. Or, try typing your friends’
screen name in the search field and click Search.

From the list of friends, simply select the friend. Twitter provides a list of the

100 friends. Or, try typing your friends’ screen name in the search field and click
Search.
Switch Friend Notification to Twitter
If you are already notifying a friend about your travel status, you can change their
method of communication to Twitter. This requires two steps:
Step 1 – Define your friends’ Twitter screen name
Information about your friend is located within the TripChill address book. On the
My Account tab, select Address Book and then click on your friends’
name. Notice the Twitter tab available along with other contact information.
Click on the tab, type in your friends’ screen name into the field provided, and
then click the Check Name button. A success message is displayed if your
friends’ screen name is configured properly. Click the Update button to save this
change. Then, you must click the Save button to commit your address book
changes into your account settings.
Step 2 – Change your friends’ method of communication
When viewing an itinerary, click the Notify Friends bar underneath a flight
(see picture above). Click on the picture of the letter or mobile phone next to
your friend and then select the Twitter bird.
